Glad You Asked
Dear Friends:
I’m grateful to share something that has been on my heart for a long time.
For years, I’ve come across sincere questions of faith—some asked in person, others discovered online in social media groups and discussion forums. Many of them came from people trying to understand the Bible, wrestling with a difficult passage, or searching for meaning in a world that often feels confusing. They weren’t arguing; they were asking. And that spirit of curiosity, humility, and longing for truth is what inspired this book.
Glad You Asked: Catholic Answers to Honest Questions is the first volume in a new series exploring real questions people are asking about faith, Scripture, and life. This first installment, Mysteries of the Bible, focuses on the stories and people we meet in Scripture—those moments that make us pause and think, “Why did God do that?” or “What does this mean for me?”
Each chapter begins with a question drawn from real online conversations. Some are simple, others profound, but all come from the desire to understand God more deeply. I respond with reflection, Scripture, and Church teaching in a way that’s meant to be both accessible and prayerful. Every chapter closes with a short section called “Something to Think About,” followed by Scripture References and Catechism passages for those who want to keep exploring.
This book is not meant to answer every mystery of the Bible—only to shine a little light on a few corners of it. My hope is that these pages will spark your own curiosity, deepen your faith, and help you see how the Word of God continues to speak in every age, including ours.
