Do You Have Hope?
A Reflection
Hello Friends!
Some days feel heavier than others.
Even in the light of Easter, when we celebrate the Resurrection, life does not suddenly become free of struggle. The worries remain. The uncertainties linger. The weight of past decisions, present challenges, and future fears can still press in on the heart.
Did we expect otherwise?
Easter was never a promise that suffering would disappear. It was the assurance that suffering would not have the final word.
Christ rose… and yet the apostles still had to walk forward, still had to face trials, still had to grow in trust. And so do we.
Today, I find myself clinging to the wisdom of St. Faustina Kowalska:
“It is no longer in my power,
To change, correct, or add to the past;
For neither sages nor prophets could do that.
And so, what the past has embraced I must entrust to God.”
There is something deeply freeing in that truth.
We spend so much time looking backward… wishing we could rewrite moments, fix mistakes, say words differently, choose another path. But we cannot. The past is no longer ours to carry in that way.
What is ours… is this moment.
And what God offers us in this moment is not the removal of every burden, but the quiet, steady gift of hope.
Hope that what we cannot fix, He can redeem.
Hope that what we cannot see, He is already preparing.
Hope that even in the midst of anxious thoughts and uncertain days, we are not alone.
Easter does not erase the cross.
It transforms it.
So if today feels heavy, you are not doing something wrong. You are walking the same road every disciple has walked.
But you are walking it with the Risen Christ.
And that changes everything… even if slowly… even if quietly… one step at a time.
Semper ad Lucem,
John Henry

Well said John. I love that part from St. Faustina Kowalska. Thanks for sharing this with us. And great pic on the post. Love that too.
